I found the Daedalus project to be interesting, in fact, I believe I may have read an article on there before while writing an English paper on "Video Game Violence vs. Parental Negligence, who is to blame?"

While I may not have a large sociological background, the article still proves to be rather interesting, in the various quotes by several guild leaders. While I am only an officer in my guild, it still makes sense of what the people are dealing with.

Your stories of similar drama are an inspriation to my guild, and I am glad that I started this discussion.

An addition:

I feel that sometimes the Alliance has been a thorn in the side of my guild, yet at points it has allowed us to branch beyond our core members. The amount of people seems to be too daunting though, as it is hard enough to please 20 people, let alone an entire alliance.

Drama, though, is apparent no matter what the size of the guild.

I hope to see this thread grow, as others recount their points of dramatic intrigue.

That sounds like a very interesting paper. I've used some of his stuff for my ongoing writings "Sociology in Online Gaming." Doing any sort of Sociological experiment in a game tends to wear you down, especially when you can't quite come up with a logical reason behind some of the results you get. It's still fun, interesting, and educational regardless.

Of course this thread only adds to my source material so I'm hoping it continues to grow as well.

Just say no to guild drama.

Okay, seriously, I despise guild drama/edrama. Three guilds ago, I was in a guild that actually had a coup. The guild leader of the one I was in overthrew the alliance leader/another guild leader. It was chaos, many people left, many hurt feelings, and bad behavior of the one who instigated the coup and the deposed al/gl. It was a complete mess.

Two guilds ago, there was a little edrama/guild drama that somehow led to the guild breaking up. I don't know the details as I didn't want to know.

The guild I'm in now is great. No drama, no conflict, just peace and quiet. We get along well, and I love it. As GL, if I see drama starting, I'm gonna stomp a big ole boot down and squelch it immediately.
